One of the most critical requirements for industrial IoT applications is to provide security for devices that must be controlled remotely. For example, it is not unusual to find gas, chemical or cooling water gate valves in remote areas of petrochemical plants or in oil and gas fields that regulate critical processes. These valves could be inaccessible to human operators and therefore actuated remotely through a wireless network.
