IoT Secure Systems Summit expands speaker lineup

The IoT Secure Systems Summit 2017 runs in London on Tuesday 25 April, and the speaker lineup has been expanded.

By Alun Williams, Electronics Weekly, Jan. 31, 2017 – Another industry expert - Jan Tobias Muehlberg of Imec-DistriNet - will be speaking at the one day conference devoted to the design of secure hardware and software, with a particular emphasis on the IoT.

The title of his talk is: Securing Distributed Embedded Computing With a Minimal TCB

He tells us:

In this talk I will present an ongoing line of very practical research that uses Protected Module Architectures (PMAs) to guarantee authenticity, integrity and confidentiality properties of event-driven distributed applications.

PMAs make it possible to protect individual software modules of an application against attacks from other modules or even from a malicious or misbehaving operating system. Several PMAs that ensure isolation of software components have been released, including ARM TrustZone and Intel SGX for mobile devices and the server and desktop market, and Sancus for lightweight embedded microcontrollers.
